Linda's Cremation and Memorial

Linda Hart Karpenko

As you unfortunately know, on Thursday morning, March 30, surrounded by her family, Linda peacefully took her last breath. After a bad fall last summer, Linda was unable to regain the strength to be able to walk and spent the past few months living in a nursing home. After some recent illnesses and hospitalizations, Linda's body wasn't strong enough to fight the numerous infections and she finished her fight here on Earth after 66 years of life. She was in the hospital for a week before passing and was lovingly surrounded by her family and friends during this time. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, co-worker, and friend to many. Her family remembers her most for being loving, caring, nurturing, thoughtful, and supportive. She had an impeccable memory and was a captivating story teller. She could make anyone laugh and had an infectious laugh herself. She could speak to anyone and became friends with anyone that she spent time with. She loved deeply, and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

I (Carolyn Hanusa) am setting up this site on behalf of Linda's family. I have been a friend of her daughter, Jill, for the past 20 years, since our freshman year at Annville-Cleona High School. I consider them family. When tragedy strikes, we want to help, to do something tangible to let those grieving know that we care and are hurting alongside them.

Many of you have expressed your love and sympathy to the Karpenko, Hart, Stairiker, and Smith families during this time, and you've asked if there's anything else that you can do to help. No one likes to ask for help, especially monetarily. I'm giving you the opportunity to bless the family by helping pay for the cost of the cremation and related expenses, such as a celebration of Linda's life/memorial service. As you know, Mike and Linda were both unable to work for the past few years. As a result, they do not have the funds available for these expenses. Knowing this, Linda did not want to spend money on a funeral service; however, her family would love to celebrate Linda's life with those who knew and loved her. The money that is raised here will first go towards paying for the cost of the cremation, and the additional money will go towards a celebration of Linda's life so that family and friends can remember her and celebrate her together. Linda's daughter, Jill, will be solely in charge of administering the funds raised here. Thank you for your consideration and support given to Linda's family.
