My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. In an effort to help raise money to pay for treatment, which is not covered by insurance, I asked her to write her story and the following are her own words...
My name is Linda Cervantez. I celebrated my 50th birhtday this year and felt very happy - like this was the best time of my life. I was planning to celebrate my life every month of this year...instead I have been visiting doctors. I was diagnosed with advanced stage breast cancer. It was shocking to me as I have always been healthy and usually don't get sick. Honestly, even now I feel good physically.
I have been a life-long student of integrative/alternative health and so it is natural that I would choose to go that route for treatment. Unfortunately insurance will not cover this. My treatment will consist of a 20 day hospital stay followed by
a minimum of 12 weeks at-home follow up treatment under doctor's care. I will then return to the hospital to check my progress and to determine if more in-hospital treatment is needed or additional at-home treatment. Full payment is required upfront. Your donation of any size would help get me started on my journey back to health. It would mean so much to me and my family. Words cannot express the gratitude I already have for your kindness and generosity.
