Hey Everyone!
"Linda's will provide" has been my moto for a decade now. Anytime things got tough I just remember how resilient the old joint has been (she's almost 50!), and my worries are usually set at ease. When I found it difficult to see a way forward; Linda's would light up show me the way like it was destined.
This time was different Facing the pandemic here at home so close all around Linda's, and the subsequent closure of the university was what convinced me that survival was more important than unabridged operation. It was a really hard decision to suspend operations for the second time in August, especially after just having re-opened again in June.
As of August 20th I knew that if we continued to operate at 10% of our normal numbers that we would close permanently. I knew that my both my staff and I didn't want covid-19 exposure. I knew that we were quickly approaching the weekend, and students were being told to go home. I knew that we were no alumni that would want to buy Linda's at the time, and I also knew that the decisions had to be made quickly regarding closing or the decisions would be made for me eventually.
I'm going to use whatever I raise here to get staff back and keep Linda's right where it is. We are going to survive. (Que" Eye of the Tiger " music)
Just to be clear, this one is for Linda's and I can't thank everyone enough for donating to the staff fund raiser. We're gonna get open and get more outdoor seating out back in the alley and add some fun areas. (Yay room for activities!) I really want to keep this place around for generations to come. Anything and everything helps and thanks again. Target Date for reopening is weekend of October 16th.
