Age 66 of Elk River MN, passed away on May 8, 2019. Linda was born at Great Lakes Naval Base to parents Waldemar and Helen Olsen. Linda graduated from Fridley High School in 1970 and enlisted in the Army where she met her Husband Kenneth at Fort Leonard Wood Military Base in Missouri. Linda was a lifelong learner and studied at several schools including the University of Wisconsin-Superior and Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Linda served her community by working as an LPN, 911 dispatcher for Wood County in Wisconsin, a Chaplain at Fairview Hospital and the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN. Linda and her husband had 4 biological and adopted 7 children, she never said no when asked by agencies to take a baby that needed a mother. Linda was an avid Jeopardy watcher, where she knew most of the answers and she would also answer in the form of a question. Linda completed the Star Tribune crossword puzzle daily in pen and was the best speller in the family without a question.
Linda accomplished many things in her short life but left many things unfinished. She gave everything of herself to others without thought of her own self.
Survived by husband Kenneth; children William, Gerald, Kenndy (Kirk), Kathleen (Craig), Thomas, Calvin, Alexander, GraceRee, Abraham, Adlai, Lafayette; 5 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren; sisters Kathy and Annie and her 3 cherished beagles.
This Go Fund Me account has been created to remember Linda with the intent to set up a fund for a memorial and help to cover final expenses. For example, the purchase a memorial bench at the Minnesota State Fair. This was one of her favorites places and many family memories have taken place there. Her health in recent years has prevented her from attending. With a park bench, she will never miss another Minnesota State Get Together again.
