Linda Lichtman Legacy Fund
Donation protected
We are asking you to be a ground-floor contributor to the Linda Lichtman Legacy Fund. Broad participation in this first step of fundraising is absolutely crucial to the success of the Fund, and we hope your participation will help us attract additional donations from other donors and institutions in the future.
Mission:
This fund is a way to honor Linda’s life in stained and flat glass, and her profound contribution to people's lives through her beautiful art and her tireless mentoring. By giving talented, aspiring artists the ability to fully pursue their passion, we hope to support the art and the profession to which Linda dedicated her life.
Purposes:
The Linda Lichtman Legacy Fund is being established with the following purposes:
• To create and sustain a residency program for inspired artists, and thereby assist in pursuing their dreams of becoming stained and flat glass artists
• To maintain Linda’s Somerville, MA studio as a resource for these residents/fellows
• To honor Linda’s lifetime of prolific creativity and her generous mentoring of other artists
Next Steps for the Fund:
We are presently developing options for the structure of the Fund, which include the possibility of collaborating with Massachusetts College of Art on a joint program that would support the goals of the Linda Lichtman Legacy Fund. We intend to have the structure of the Fund finalized in the next few weeks, and have the residency program underway by March 2022.
Tax Status:
Before we complete the process of incorporation and filing for non-profit status, donations to this GoFundMe page will not be tax-deductible. For those who intend to file for a tax deduction on your donation, we will soon provide a separate mechanism. For the many of you who do not itemize, or who live overseas, contributing to Linda’s memory now will enable us to initiate a vigorous fund raising process immediately and fund the initial steps in the buildout of the project.
We are thrilled with the prospect of providing aspiring glass artists with the ability to continue the work that Linda loved. Our hope is that through this effort, their art will enrich the world, and Linda’s legacy will live on.
Our sincere thanks,
Jon Romig, Kurt Lichtman, and the Linda Lichtman Legacy Fund
