Thank you for visiting the GoFundMe page of Linda Leahy. Our goal is help Linda with the financial burden she will be facing, as well as to help off set the expenses that the family will incur in the upcoming weeks while she battles Brain and Bladder Cancer. Linda has been diagnosed with stage IV Glioblastoma and will begin Chemo and Radiation in a few short weeks.
On the evening of October 29, 2020 Linda was rushed to the ER in Lansdale, PA after suddenly becoming confused and suffering communication difficulty at work. After discovering a mass in the left frontal lobe on the CAT scan, she was transferred to Abington Hospital at which point they found another mass in the bladder. Thanks to the help of two amazing friends she was transferred to specialists at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. That team discovered the presence of a second brain tumor on the right side of the brain. On Nov 3, 2020 she underwent an eight hour emergency surgery to remove the large mass on the left side of the brain. On Nov. 5, 2020 Linda underwent a second surgery to remove multiple tumors from her bladder. Unfortunately the pathology revealed the brain tumor to be a Glioblastoma and Linda will require six weeks of Chemo and Radiation after she has had time to recover from her tumor removals.
As with everything Corona Virus has complicated life. It is our goal to keep Linda as safe and as comfortable as possible. With that being said, we have been advised that someone should quarantine with her to limit Linda's exposure to the virus (requiring them to take a leave from work). We would love to keep Linda with her specialists and the hospital that saved her life. The cost of travel, medications including oral chemo, and the never ending medical bills are all expenses that continue to grow. With Linda unable to work, these things place a huge financial burden on the family and we appreciate any and all help. Linda lost her husband suddenly less than five years ago and is the mother of five, grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of one.
