Linda González’s vitrectomy & cataract surgery

Hello everyone,

My name is Mayra Rodriguez and I am here on behalf of my mom, Linda Gonzalez with a plea for support. Unfortunately, my mom has had several health problems in 2023 ending with her spending several weeks hospitalized and ultimately losing the majority of her vision.

Her condition is called diabetic retinopathy and it has severely damaged her blood vessels in her retinas. Additionally, the diabetes has caused her to develop cataracts in both eyes.

She needs vitrectomy surgery to repair the severe damage caused to her retina and cataracts removal. I’m coming here for help as my mom can no longer work and my dad is juggling being her caretaker while working a full time job. She was able to referred to great eye surgeon, but they can’t afford this procedure. Without this surgery she won’t be able to see again. All funds donated will go directly to Rex Hospital for her procedure.

Mi nombre es Mayra Rodríguez y estoy aquí en nombre de mi mamá, Linda González , con una súplica de apoyo. Desafortunadamente, mi mamá tuvo varios problemas de salud en 2023, lo que terminó en que pasó varias semanas hospitalizada y finalmente perdió la mayor parte de su visión.

Su condición se llama retinopatía diabética y ha dañado gravemente los vasos sanguíneos de la retina. Además, la diabetes le ha provocado cataratas en ambos ojos.

Necesita una cirugía de vitrectomía para reparar el grave daño causado a su retina y la extirpación de cataratas. Vengo aquí en busca de ayuda porque mi mamá ya no puede trabajar y mi papá es su cuidador mientras trabaja tiempo completo.

Encontró un gran cirujano ocular, pero no pueden pagar por este procedimiento. Sin esta cirugía no podrá volver a ver. Todos los fondos donados irán directamente al Hospital Rex para su procedimiento.
