Lincoln Playground
Donation protected
My name is Tasha Markham and I am the Principal of Lincoln Elementary School in Fredonia, KS. Our school family has been working hard to bring our building up to date and provide our students with a safe and inviting place for them to grow and be ready for life beyond elementary school.
As many already know, we've been working hard the last 5+ years to raise money for our new playground through our G&W receipt drive efforts and we are nearly there! Since COVID, prices have risen, the design has had to be reconfigured many times, and now we just need that last little boost to make this project happen in full! Our student council was instrumental in helping with our design and this playground will serve our 1st through 6th grade students!!
We are looking to raise approx. $100,000. No donation is too small. With your donation, we will be able to provide an up-to-date, safe play area for not only our students, but the surrounding community as well! If enough money is raised, the project will include several new pieces of equipment including a tall piece with 3 slides and climbers, a separate climbing apparatus that can hold 70 kids at once, a new swing set with 4 bays that will hold 10 kids (which includes 2 buddy swings), an obstacle course, a tilt a whirl, and it will all be housed on a new poured in place rubber surfacing. We are also excited to announce that we received a KDHE Waste Tire Grant that will cover half of the rubber surfacing!
Since coming to Fredonia nearly 8 years ago, I have quickly learned that we have an amazing community! I am constantly in awe of the support we receive from community members and businesses! We’d love to see this project become a reality sooner rather than later! Thank you for your support!
