Lina's Surgery: A Chance to Walk Again

A few days ago, I heard dogs barking outside my home. When I went to check, I found a tiny kitten lying on the ground — her body twisted, terrified, and unable to move her back legs. I knew she wouldn’t survive without help. I rushed to get her to safety, gave her food, water, and a warm place to rest, and named her Lina.

Despite everything she’s been through, Lina has been fighting to live — but she’s badly injured and needs urgent veterinary care.

I took her to the vet, and after running tests, we finally learned the truth:

3 fractures – two in her spine, one in her pelvis

One spinal fracture is pinching a nerve, which may prevent her from walking again without surgery.

The vet told me that surgery is her best chance to walk again and live without pain. But the cost is overwhelming — a minimum of $6,000 for the surgery, medication, and aftercare. We need to start treatment right away to give her a chance at walking again.

I’m doing everything I can for her, but I can’t cover this alone.

Hace unos días, escuché perros ladrando afuera de mi casa. Cuando fui a ver qué pasaba, encontré a una gatita pequeña tirada en el suelo — su cuerpo torcido, aterrada y sin poder mover sus patas traseras. Supe que no sobreviviría sin ayuda. Me apresuré a ayudar, le di comida, agua y un lugar cálido para descansar, y la llamé Lina.

A pesar de todo lo que ha pasado, Lina ha estado luchando por vivir — pero está gravemente herida y necesita atención veterinaria urgente.

La llevé al veterinario y, después de hacerle pruebas, finalmente este fue el resultado:
