Help Lily Take on the World – Morocco 2027

In July 2027, Lily has the incredible opportunity to travel to Morocco with Wey Valley Academy as part of a World Challenge expedition — and we couldn’t be prouder of her. The children are encouraged to fundraise the cost of the trip . Lily has lots of ideas on fundraising over the next year.

Lily is 13 and truly one of the loveliest souls you could meet. She is deeply loved and admired by everyone who knows her . She is Kind, thoughtful and quietly determined, she brings warmth wherever she goes.

Behind her bright smile, Lily manages more than most young people her age. She lives with severe allergies and carries epi pens daily. She also has severe eczema and has a condition called hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), which is a connective tissue disorder causing joint instability, digestive and gastro issues, ongoing pain and fatigue. These are challenges she navigates every single day with courage and resilience.

Yet she refuses to let her health define her.

Lily plays for Weymouth F.C. Under 13’s, showing commitment and teamwork week after week. She has also earned her black belt in Taekwondo, a reflection of her strength, discipline and perseverance. None of this has come easily — but she continues to show up, push forward and give her best.

This expedition to Morocco is more than a school trip. It’s an opportunity to grow in independence, leadership and confidence. It’s a chance to experience a new culture, work as part of a team and challenge herself in new ways. Because of Lilys health issues she will need additional insurance.

Lily hopes that by taking on opportunities like this — despite living with ongoing health challenges — she can inspire other young people facing their own difficulties to believe in themselves too. She wants to show that strength isn’t about having no struggles, but about continuing anyway.

The cost of the expedition is significant, the kit list is extensive but Lily is committed to fundraising as much as she can herself. We are asking for support from our wonderful community to help make this life-changing opportunity possible.
