Lily's battle with breast cancer

My daughter In-law Lily was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at the young age of 26 in march of 2018. Lily and my son live in Waterloo with there 3 young children. Lily is a stay at home mother, with all her expenses and family lost wages, traveling to iowa city for multiple appointments and surgeries, they would appreciate any help you can provide.
After the first diagnosis of stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, Lily was facing a double mastectomy. During this time she also found out that she carried the BRACA2 mutation. This is likely the reason for her young diagnosis and could also result in ovarian cancer. After several months of appointments Lily had her double mastectomy and reconstruction that lasted over a year.
After such a long journey there was no evidence of the cancer. Lily and her family were just getting back to feeling healthy in there new normal. Then right before Christmas of 2019 Lily detected a lump. This resulted her going to the ER and then back to the oncologist in iowa city for a biopsy.
She got the devastating call from the doctor that the cancer had returned. After several scans she found that it was consistent with breast cancer and it had metastasized to her lymph nodes and liver. Now the cancer is considered stage 4. She has been taking oral chemo and hormone therapy with scans every 3 months. She also had her ovaries removed to help with the hormone therapy because, her cancer is 90% estrogen postive.
After a couple months of treatment we thought that the cancer was under control. But, in June her tumors had slightly grown. This was like receiving bad news all over again. At this point her oncologist wanted her to go a more aggressive route and take out each spot surgically before it spread to more areas of her body. She first met with a surgical oncologist in iowa city. This doctor was against doing surgery. Her oncologist then gave her a referral to mayo clinc in Rochester Minnesota.
Lily has went to her initial consultation at mayo, and they think she is a candidate for surgery and radiation. With multiple upcoming appointments Lily and her family will undergo many expenses such as fuel, hotels,meals,childcare, and lost wages of their only provider.
Lily and Ronald appreciate all the help they have received during this journey, and further help that they will receive. Lily's only concern is to be healthy enough to watch her kids grow up. Her family is very deserving of this go fund me.
