Lily Mae's rebuild her liver mission
Donation protected
Hello! I had to type this as my silly Mum can't stop bawling so WOOF! I am an 18 month Italian Spinone and have been tackling my liver shunt condition since I was diagnosed at 5 months old.
Mum and Dad have used their £8k pet insurance on two operations, plus another £1500, the first operation they operated on the wrong place and so I had to go in again and have another operation my parents have gone above and beyond and have now run out of money and just heard that the second operation hasn't worked either so I am now being referred.
Mum thought I was ticketty boo since my operation in February 2021 but got the call last night from the vets to say her bile levels have gone up not down which means nothing has worked. We have options, do nothing and try and afford the lifetime medication and liver support pet food and hope but liver shunt dogs have short life spans and my levels are as Mr Kipling would say 'exceedingly high'. The vet said I am a very poorly dog but to be honest I feel bonkers which is keeping Mum going!
I am 18 months old and very grown up but would like to make it to 10 years if possible but we need to do lots of specialist prodding and fixing starting off with CT scan and a consultation at a mainland vet Anderson Moore's (apparently a very clever lady as she fixed my sister born with the same condition). Mum hates asking for help but she looked desperately sad last night and under persuasion she has caved today, so any biscuits you can donate (ooops slip of the paw there), pennies would be wonder woof! Failing that Mums going to have to write a book and sell it!
Mum forgot to say she will show all receipts for vets and any money leftover if we ever get to the end of this will be donated to SOFA Spinone Overseas Rescue run by Sarah-Jane Newton although she doesn’t know this yet!

Thank you, got my paws crossed xxx
