Just over a year ago Lily Bell, who had just turned 6 and is now 7, became very poorly. Several blood tests and scans later, it was discovered she had problems with her gall bladder. There was a small unidentifiable soft tissue mass in the wall of her gall bladder and lots of ‘sludge’.
So she began a year of medication and a special diet.
Every 3 months she had blood tests and was scanned…each time her results were heading in the right direction. Blood levels nearly normal and the soft tissue mass hadn’t changed, then…
After putting off having her teeth sorted out until she would be ok for a general aesthetic, she went into our vet’s, had the pre op bloods and then the phone call came.
Lily’s liver enzymes were through the roof. She was scanned and it was found that the soft tissue mass had grown so big, it was now occupying most of her gall bladder.
The only thing for Lily now is life saving surgery to remove her gall bladder. It is a specialist procedure not done by our vets, which by the way have been amazing! So we are having to take her to Shrewsbury.
She is booked in to have surgery on August the 7th and we would be very very grateful for any help with the cost of her operation. No amount would be too small.
