Lilly's DTS and Mission Trip

Hey friends! My name is Lilly and I'm incredibly stoked to share with you a little bit about my next new journey. I am moving across the country at the end of September to join a Discipleship Training Program (DTS) with an organization called Youth with a Mission in Kona, Hawaii. For the first 3 months I will be at the University of the Nations campus for a lecture/training phase where I will participate in lecture courses taught by dynamic speakers, small group studies, worship, local outreaches, community service projects, work responsibilities, exploring different topics of the Bible and receiving personal discipleship and mentorship. Following the lecture phase, I will then be sent out on an outreach for the remaining 3 months. This could be anywhere in the world! The outreach phase is when we put everything we have learned into practice and fulfill the great commission through demonstrating God's love to others. Specifically, I will be working to serve “women and children-at-risk, those caught in the trap of systemic poverty, those without a voice, the homeless, those struggling with life addictions, and those have been sexually abused, trafficked or enslaved.” The end goal is to bring the joy and love of the Gospel to the margins of society and those experiencing injustice, wherever that may be!

I am SO excited for this next chapter of my life and I just know that God has led me here for a reason. I have spent months in prayer where I received more confirmation and peace that God will guide and provide for me throughout this whole journey, and that He is going to do some extraordinary things throughout this time. I don't know where I am going to be led after this trip but I know that I have decided to say yes to God's direction in my life and I'm ready for all the adventures He has planned for me in the future!

I trust that Jesus is my ultimate provider and He will make a way if He wills, but I also believe in the power of my community, and that is why I am asking for your help during this journey! Whether you decide to come along this journey with me by donating money or prayer, I am extremely grateful and your contribution makes a huge impact! Money donations will help to cover lodging, transportation, and food for the entire 6 months. Starting in spring, I have committed to working three-part time jobs and have been diligent about saving for things like my plane ticket and other expenses for this trip, but still, I need your help.
