Help fix Lilly's ACL so she can walk again
Donation protected
Lilly joined our family five years ago next month. She has been a joy to two old empty nesters. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her. She is the most friendly dog ever. Her favorite past time is running and playing with the grandchildren.
A few months ago, we noticed a slight limp after Lilly had been lying down for a while. On a recent walk around the neighborhood, Lilly suddenly stopped walking and sat down. Nothing we said or did would get her up. A trip to the vet resulted with the news that Lilly had a torn ACL. Further diagnosis from a specialist brought the news that Lilly would need immediate surgery to repair the ligament. Unfortunately, the cost to repair the ACL is over $4000. Without the surgery, Lilly will not be able to walk much longer.
We love Lilly dearly and can't imagine our home without her. But we can't afford to spend such a large amount of money. Being semi-retired and having been shutdown for the last few months due to Coronavirus have left us with the challenge of how to pay for the surgery.
A second opinion left us with hope that if we get the one leg repaired, we may be able to avoid surgery on the other one which is damaged, too.
Asking for any help is something we have never done. We have been hesitant to reach out to friends and animal lovers.
Any contributions to help with Lilly's surgery costs will be greatly appreciated. Yesterday, our veterinarian said that if Lilly gets the surgery and goes through rehab, she should live a long, healthy life. That would be a blessing, indeed. Thank you for your gift.
