Lilly & Lyra Need A Car!

Hi Everyone! We need help fundraising to purchase a car for Lilly + Lyra!

As some of you know their car died in May 2024 and Lilly has been biking, walking, and borrowing cars to transport herself, Lyra and their dog to and fro school, work, appointments and such. This winter has been particularly hard on Lilly with the polar vortexes, snow, ice, rain and freezing temperature which she has been walking and biking in with her kiddo. 

She needs a reliable car, and we know cars are not inexpensive anymore! Unfortunately due to health issues in her childhood that resulted in debt and her current job she doesn’t qualify for a car loan - not that we want to keep being financially indebted to “the man”, so she needs us to come together for her to get a leg up on being financially able to purchase a reliable car.

Lilly does so much for the community, from being a person we can turn to for a variety of things, to always having open arms for our youth, to giving us a wonderful community art space! She founded and opened up this community art studio (AUNTY’S HOUSE) in 2023 for the people which she singlehanded demoed and then built with her mom friend. Lilly create this space for us both in terms of the business and building the space with everything she has- I saw her with bloodied hands building walls, and spending countless hours creating the what we get to experience, a space for us and by us. AUNTY’S HOUSE has become an important place for us to gather, share and access the arts, and she has made that happen from so much of her own body and labor as an under resourced single mother.

She needs us to come together for her and her kiddo now! This car will help her and Lyra in all the ways but also she’ll be able to continue her work of supporting and showing up for the community.
