It is with a heavy heart that I am creating this GoFundMe today as my family is currently going through some trying times. My mother, Lillian Rivera, has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. My mom is one of the most selfless people I know. She has always worked hand in hand with a variety of non-profit and fundraising organizations such as the American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Relay For Life, Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, Little Angels Bike Program, and many more. She has always been a dedicated individual to anyone in need or receiving her care.

She has taken in over 100 foster children over the years and has been family to many from CT to FL states. My mom has always given back to the community, and now we are reaching out to the community in the hopes you are able to do the same for her. She lost her mother just over a year ago and has been battling her own doctors to take her health seriously well before that. It wasn’t until recently they have taken the steps and confirmed our worst fears. She has been diagnosed with two different cancers and up until a few days ago has been jerked around when it comes to her health. She is now finally getting answers and is in the process of receiving the life-saving procedures necessary, but they demand payments sooner than she was prepared for.

She has taken vacation time in the hope that that is all the time off needed. But as the appointments and bills begin to rack up, the underlying truth is inevitable. If we can’t raise this money, she will not be able to keep a clear mind without worries, nor will she be able to continue with treatment or have the surgery required for treatment. The fight will become more financially stressful or worse, we will have to end treatment completely as it will be unaffordable. Please help her keep her head above water.
