Lillian Kimura Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Lillian Kimura, a retired teacher of Mathematics at Mark Keppel HS, has devoted many years of her life to educating students on the study of Mathematics and important life lessons on commitment, self-reliance, and goal setting. Her unique method of teaching Advanced Placement Calculus was one above the rest. Not only did the students achieved high scores, but developed outstanding interpersonal skills through study groups, airband presentations, costume parties, etc. Before the AP Calculus test date, Ms. Kimura conducted after-school and Saturday review sessions on her own time, purely out of her dedication. Her former students appreciated Ms. Kimura, not just for the strong math skills acquired, but for how to be a better person in the world.
It is fitting to set up a Math memorial scholarship in her memory, to award future Mark Keppel Calculus students, for their commitment and passion to the study of Calculus.
