We are raising money to help the Sweet and Lovely Lilith. A sweetheart who imprinted on my roommate, who loathed felines but now adores her like family and spoils her rotten.
Lilith, we believe, was partially crushed by one of the upstairs neighbors in our back parking lot when she was outside since they have been an absolute nightmare as upstairs tenants with the illegal housing and many, many other issues.
Lilith has her pelvis broken on both sides, a broken tail, and there was fear of spinal damage.
Lilith has now been seen by an orthopedic surgeon and a neurologist, who have both cleared her for surgery with a "very optimistic outcome"!!!
She's currently being held at MSPCA Angel in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
Since getting a surgeon or a neurologist is almost impossible on a weekend, we had no choice but to go to MSPCA since time was of the essence.
Lilith's medical expenses have reached more than my roommate and I can financially afford. We have given everything we have and maxed our resources and savings. The down payment on her surgery was $11,000 alone. She will need 2 months of recovery minimum and lots of medications moving forward, along with follow-up visits and x-rays.
Many of you have not met Lilith... She is the sweetest and sassiest back-talking cat I have ever known in my life. She has made us laugh so much. Lucky (her brother) and Lilith are rescues from South Carolina and were found abandoned as kittens, fighting for survival in a trailer park.
They were unable to be adopted in South Carolina and were eventually sent to Massachusetts to be given to an adoption agency here until I adopted them.
Lilith and Lucky have known struggle and suffering since they were born and abandoned. Then they were put up for adoption. Lilith has a damaged milky eye. As you can see from pictures, they both have balding above their eyes from rubbing against things excessively as kittens.
Thankfully, Lilith is very ADHD lol. Even when I met her in the adoption agency, she was the friendliest and most warm animal, ready to play and be pet. Absolutely amazing personality and almost no memory of the traumas she had endured. Her brother is a different story; he is more cautious, aware, and untrusting. They both have made amazing additions to our household and hold special places in our hearts❤️. They are FAMILY. And you do anything you can for family.
We have exhausted most of our resources. We are still reaching out for grants and any help humane societies or anyone can give us, but we haven't heard back from anyone yet.
Grant funding is first come, first serve, and we're hoping we get some luck.
We are asking for any support that our friends or family can provide... no matter how small a donation, it will help "Our Pretty Girl".
Lilith has had successfully completed surgery with a plate and screws. She is a fighter! We thank you for sharing this link, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help you can give ❤️
