Lilian's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Kristen Ramon. My sister Lilian Ramon was involved in a bad car accident. She just started college in San Angelo at ASU in August. To begin her degree in Education to become a Pre-K teacher. She came down for her first family vist on Saturday morning September 9th. She planned to be back in her dorm on Sunday night. However she didn't make it back. At 5:25 PM my mom got the worst text message from Life 360 that Lilian's phone detected a crash. Between Big Spring, Tx and Sterling City, Tx , Lilian flipped 4 times bumper to bumper. Two witnesses said she landed upside down and they had to push the car right side up. She was then transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center Emergency Room in Big Spring, Tx. She had multiple scans, X-rays, MRIs done.
Doctors in Big Spring said she needed better scans, because her scans were cloudy. They could see that something was wrong with her spine. They then transferred her to UMC in Lubbock,Tx. Where we learned that she had a compression fractured spine and if she moved the broken spine would punctured her spinal cord, she would instantly become paralyzed. She also broke her left clevical collar bone and has a fractured Shoulder. They put her in SURGICAL ICU, where she had to lay completely straight and not move. Lilian had surgery Tuesday morning. She had four screws and a 4in metal rod placed in her spine. Her car is completely totaled. We truly believe she had a higher power/ guardian angel wrapped around her. It's a miracle she survived. Her recovery will take anywhere from 6 weeks up to 3 months. Lili is going to have to learn how to walk all over again. If anyone knows us, you know my mom has been a single mother for the past 18 years. She does not like to post her personal life on social media. However, She is the only provider for her and Lilian. My mom and I will be taking some time from work as Lilian needs full time assistance. I am trying to get help with medical expenses, as physical therapy will not be covered by insurance, medication and to help my mom with any household expenses. A lot of family and friends are asking how can they help! This would be so much help! We hate asking for help. But I just want my mom to worry about my sister's recovery! Anything will help ! Even if you could just keep my sister in prayers for a fast recovery. We appreciate everyone that has already helped with prayer, food and emotional support! Thank you from the bottoms of my heart! With God all things are POSSIBLE!
