After a lengthy battle with illness, Liliana Lopez passed away this week in the company of her family and loved ones.

For those of you who never had the pleasure to get to know her, Liliana was a kind and gentle 13 year old soul, as well as a dedicated and talented athlete. She was a joy on and off the field and as likely to seek out a teammate who needed a friendly face as she was to dominate a game from the midfield. Liliana has been a part of the Manhattan SC family from the youngest ages and during her time on teams like the '07 Flash, Lyon, and Benfica NPL squads, she never stopped working to make herself and her teammates better, without ever losing that knowing smile and even through her struggle with illness. Liliana's dedication to her teammates, her family, her development as a player, and the club are an inspiration to everyone blessed to have shared time with her. 

We are raising funds to help Liliana's parents defray the cost of  funeral and  medical expenses, childcare, wages lost , and day to day expenses incurred through this unimaginably sad time in their lives.  All funds raised will go directly to the Lopez family
