Lilian Jaromay Tolliver

Lilian Jaromay Tolliver passed away on the eve of Christmas Eve, Friday, December 23rd, 2022. She leaves behind her loving husband, Rydell; her sons, Andre Stanley, Mark Stanley, Rydell Tolliver Jr. and daughter Ashley Tolliver; her granddaughter, Rania Tolliver and grandsons Zaire Tolliver and Andre Stanley Jr. along with countless family members here in the mainland, Hawai'i, Philippines and numerous loved ones and co-workers. Originally born in the Philippines, she emigrated here to the U.S. at a very young age and served with honors, distinction and pride in the U.S. Army.

In 1997, she started her career at the Palace Hotel as an Accounts Payable/General Cashier, then transferred to the Engineering department as an Administrative Assistant. Subsequently, through sheer hard work, dedication and tenacity, she became an Apprentice Engineer and achieved Journeyman status after completing the courses at Local 39 Training Center. In April 2016, she was promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer and eventually became the Chief Engineer in April 2021. She is the first female and minority to achieve these great feats in the long and prestigious history of the Palace Hotel.

She was a strong and formidable person who was a trailblazer that shattered a lot of glass ceilings during her illustrious career. She is deeply loved and respected by her peers, but she also had a soft side as she was a hugger and was also a "Mother figure" to a lot of co-workers, especially in the Engineering department. It was best not to get on her bad side as she commanded respect and great admiration.

We are asking for donations during this difficult time to help with funeral expenses, as well as financial assistance to her husband, who will be on his own as Lilian was the sole breadwinner for the household. Any donations (great or small) will surely go a long way in helping the family navigate this challenging period. Losing a loved one is difficult enough as it is, but losing them during the holidays is especially amplified.

We thank you for your assistance and consideration and may the family find peace, support and solace during this time of mourning.
