My name is John and I’m starting a go fund me for my granddaughter Lilah.  Lilah was born prematurely on October 19, 2021.  Our day of happiness quickly turned to sadness when the doctors found a lump on her back.  They did a MRI and quickly discovered she needed more specialized care than they could provide at our local hospital.  She was immediately transferred to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she was quickly diagnosed with cancer.  Lilah was born with neuroblastoma.  The doctors informed us that this was the first case they’ve ever seen where a baby was born with cancer.  The past 3 months have been a roller coaster of emotion.  Lilah has battled through her chemotherapy like a champ.  However, the battle is just beginning.  The cancer was located on her spine causing damage to her spine and nerves.  She has also been unable to feed by mouth for several months because of swelling to her throat.  She was being fed through a NG tube.  She recently under went surgery to have the NG tube removed and a feeding tube placed in her stomach. We’re hoping this will allow time for her throat to heal.  The doctors have told us that her journey is just beginning.    Lilah will require numerous MRI’s and physical therapy for many years to come.  She will require frequent visits to specialists and orthopedic surgeons to monitor her.  We are asking for donations to help with her care, expenses, medical,  travel, gas, hospital parking, prescriptions and hotel expenses. During this time her mother has been unable to work and when Lilahs father takes time from work to visit her,  he doesn’t get paid.
