Lilah's Hospital Costs

Lilah is a 7-year-old dog who means the world to her us, her moms, Elise and Hannah. She is the sweetest and quirkiest girl, always smiling and ready to play fetch or chase after sticks. If you know us, you know that Lilah is our whole world and brings so much happiness to our home. She is truly loved unconditionally by everyone who knows her.

In the last couple of days, we noticed Lilah showing symptoms of lethargy, weakness, pain and nausea, just to name a few. Overnight, her symptoms have gotten much worse. The vets discovered she has an infection in her leg caused by a bite of some sort (snake or spider). This morning, a complete blood panel was done, the results showed platelets at a critical level and white blood count extremely high. The vet said her situation is now emergent. She will need to stay overnight at the vet and receive urgent treatment to help her recover. Lilah is now at another hospital waiting to be seen and cared for overnight. The vet warned us that treatment costs at this stage could range between $4,000.00 and $10,000.00. The costs for her care are already adding up quickly, and we are doing everything we can to make sure she gets the best chance at a full recovery. Right now, moving forward with treatment as suggested by the vet is the only alternative to putting Lilah down.

This has all happened really quickly and we are still trying to make decisions based on the options we have in order to bring her home. We are completely devastated and heartbroken but still have hope. Support from friends, family, and the community will go directly toward Lilah’s overnight care and treatment at the vet.
