Lila Quezada's Treatment for Parkinson's
Donation protected
April is Parkinson's Disease (PD) Awareness Month, and as many of you know, Lila (my mom) was diagnosed with PD in 2014. Her battle with this disease is becoming increasingly difficult, and some days are completely lost to episodes of painful convulsions. Typically, the medications prescribed for PD have a collective efficacy of about eight years, and Mom is nine years along now. At this point the disease barely responds to her meds anymore, and only for an hour or so at that. Other than drugs, drugs, and more drugs, the normal pathway for PD patients is simply to endure the pain, exhaustion, isolation, and inevitable decline. Thankfully, some holistic health methods have shown promise in treating PD by increasing dopamine production and thereby improving quality of life.
To know Mom is to love her! She has given so much of her life for others, and she continues to give all she's got in this battle. I've started this campaign to support Mom as she embarks on a rigorous new program designed to slow down the disease's progress and even reduce her medications (along with their nasty side effects). Any contributions towards our $3200 goal would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for reading, and please share!
