Who knew that today Feb 15th, seven years ago We would be laying our  13 year old daughter Joselyn to rest . She passed away from a MLD a rear terminal disease.  Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is a rare hereditary diseasecharacterized by accumulation of fats called sulfatides. This causes the destruction of the protective fatty layer (myelin sheath) surrounding the nerves in both the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
Today February 15, 2021, her sister Johanna  has just  passed away from the same terrible disease. She was diagnosed when she was just 6 months old. MLD has taken both of my daughters,  this is so devastating to our family.  She is not suffering anymore and I’m pretty sure that her sister was waiting for her with open arms and now they will be together laughing, smiling and looking down at us.
