Lightweight Wheelchair for Bo's Relief

EDIT: I was able to find a temporary wheelchair for free!! I am still going to keep this GoFundMe up as I may need a better one in the near future, but for now, I will persevere.

Hi, my name is Bo (he/they) and I am a queer and disabled person living in ATX. I've considered myself disabled for a while now, as I have been diagnosed with multiple physical conditions that hinder my mobility and functioning, such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorder.

However, as of this past February, I began having excruciating pain in my abdomen. A visit to the ER didn't find anything, and I was prescribed a muscle relaxer, thinking it was severe IBS. I was also referred to a GI doctor, with whom I have yet to follow up. Unfortunately, the problem of pain has seemed unaffected by the muscle relaxers and has further spread into my hips, lower back, legs, and, occasionally, arms and wrists. A whole body issue.

The combination of my POTS and the amount of pain (and, of course, the mental toll that comes with it) I have been experiencing has led me to miss weeks of classes at a time and call in sick for my job on campus on multiple occasions.

I feel I am at a loss as to what to do. The rollator I have, while extremely helpful, hasn't been giving me as much support as I need. I have concluded that until the pain subsides, I will need a wheelchair.

The wheelchair I need has a couple of requirements, and I am currently looking for something more affordable than not. It needs to be lightweight in order for me to be able to get up hills on campus (Go Bobcats!) and, if possible, foldable for easy transport on the bus to and from campus.

This wheelchair is something that will likely be a temporary fix for the problem until either 1) my condition improves or 2) I get worse and need to get a custom wheelchair, provided insurance covers it.
