We're back at it!
I'm Mark Tomasovic. For those of you who don't know me, I'm a Chemical Engineer from the University of Texas. In school, I spent four years studying energy technology, and I currently work as an engineer in the energy industry executing capital projects to decrease emissions and increase efficiency. This year, I'm taking on my second project as Project Manager at Arrive Kenya.

Arrive is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world. All contributions are are tax deductible and go directly to Arrive.
We're working with the Light Home of Hope in Uriri, Kenya to build a necessary Girl's Dormitory. The Girl's Dorm will be registered in Kenya as a Charitable Children's Institute (CCI), regulated by the Kenyan government.

The dorm will provide a home and shelter for 24 orphaned girls, getting the girls off the street and away from the potential for homelessness, drug addiction, hunger, and sexual assault. In addition, the Girl’s Dorm will provide these girls with access to education at the Light School from ages K-8.
I’ve seen firsthand the extremely difficult living conditions faced by these children in Western Kenya, and I have seen with my own eyes that it is not uncommon for a child to be abandoned and forced to live as a "street kid" without food or shelter.
The “street girls” of Kisii are often introduced to the dangers of sex trafficking and sexually transmitted diseases at a young age. According to the National AIDS Council Control, 14 percent of the population in Nyanza (the county in which Arrive operates) is infected with HIV. According to the US Department of State, in 2014, the US government identified 658 child trafficking victims in 18 of Kenya’s 47 counties.
It’s our goal to provide these girls a safe, sustainable home and an opportunity to succeed in life.
100% of the money raised is donated to
Arrive and I will be traveling to Kenya on July 10 to help with construction and manage project execution.
Please, help me build a sustainable Girl’s Dorm to support 24 additional girls at the Light School in Uriri, Kenya. All proceeds will go towards construction of the Dorm and will directly remove a girl from the dangers of drugs, sexual assault, and sex trafficking in the Nyanza province. Thank you for your generous contribution.
