Hi, we are the Llanymynech Amateur Dramatic Society, known locally as LADS Theatre.
For the last 35 years we have been bringing quality theatre to the communities of the Shropshire/Powys border area and offering our members the chance to get involved in ambitious drama productions, whether as actors, backstage crew, directors or simply as supporters of live theatre.
Our members are aged from under 18s to those in the later years of life, but we all share a passion for drama and a belief in its importance in sharing experiences, growing the confidence of those who participate, promoting discussion of important issues and, of course, simply having fun!
Unlike many other amateur groups, we don't have our own theatre, but instead we have a vision to take theatre into local communities by performing in village halls and other community centres.
Many of our regular venues have good stages, lighting and sound, but others have none, and so we have already worked towards purchasing our own portable staging and sound equipment. Now, we want to turn to the important issues of stage lighting, and we are asking your help to buy our own portable lighting desk and lights, so that we can take our productions into even more local venues.
It's time to Light Up LADS!
We are asking for donations towards our target of raising £2,000 which would enable us to purchase the lighting equipment which we need. We would love to be able to reach this target by the beginning of June so that we can use it in our next production, William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
Can you help?
Perhaps you have enjoyed one of our productions before? Are you one of our current members, or have been one in the past, or are you on our mailing list?
Or do you, like us, have a passion for theatre and want to ensure that local communities in our area can continue to enjoy live shows without the expense and trouble of travelling to the big city theatres? If so, would you take a moment to consider if you could help us with a donation?
We understand that times are hard financially for many people at the moment, so we want to say thank you to you for even considering helping us. Any donation, however small, would be hugely appreciated and will go towards keeping the performing arts alive here in rural Shropshire and Powys.
Thank you so much!
