Lighting Up Pitshanger!

We would love to return Light Up The Lane to the Pitshanger calendar, and we are asking for your help!
This amazing community event has run since 1997, and is a wonderful start to the festive season, bringing the Pitshanger community together to enjoy shopping along the Lane and at the Christmas market, performances from local children, and of course some mulled wine, whilst watching the turn-on of the lights.
In 2017, the event was unable to run due to funding considerations. At the time, many disappointed local residents said they would have been happy to contribute - so here is your chance to ensure that Light Up The Lane happens in 2018!
The Pitshanger Community Association (PCA), run by volunteers, does a great job in facilitating the running of the event, but £10,500 is needed to set up the event, including the road closure and the stage, sound and lighting. The PCA will be inviting local businesses and organisations to sponsor the event, but we also need your help. If everyone who plans to attend the event donates just £1, this will help to ensure that Light Up The Lane happens in 2018 and we can all look forward to a lovely evening spent with friends and family.
Any surplus made on the night from the fund-raising is given to local charities through the PCA's award scheme, so its a great way to give back at this time of year.
We would be grateful for any amount that you feel you can give, however small, and we would love to be able celebrate the start of the festive season with you in true Pitshanger style this year!
Please send your donation as soon as possible. We have to be sure that we have sufficient funds to pay for the set-up by 30th June 2018 if we are to start the planning process in time for the event on Sunday 25th November.
(We really hope it won’t happen - but if we cannot reach our target by 30th June, money raised through crowd funding will be rolled over to next year's event)
