Lighting the way for baby Olivia’s final journey
Donation protected
I’m reaching out to share the story of a beautiful little girl named Olivia, who is currently facing the most heartbreaking journey.
Olivia has recently been diagnosed with Alexander Disease, a rare and terminal neurological condition that affects the brain and nervous system. Tragically, she has one of the most severe and rapidly progressing forms. Since birth, Olivia has faced enormous challenges — including brain surgery to relieve the pressure buildup on her brain and eyes, and ongoing struggles with seizures, feeding difficulties, and developmental delays. She’s been in and out of hospital more times than her family can count, and they’ve been navigating a world of uncertainty, specialist appointments, and heartbreaking decisions ever since.
Despite the surgery and ongoing medical care, Olivia’s condition has continued to worsen. Over time, she has begun to lose the small abilities she had gained, and doctors have now confirmed that she doesn’t have much time left. There is no cure — only comfort care and the time her loving family can spend with her.
Her parents, Tayha and Brandon, are doing everything they can to give Olivia a life filled with love, gentleness, and peace, while also caring for her big sister Willow. They are by Olivia’s side full-time — managing her complex needs, attending appointments, and cherishing every precious moment with their daughters.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help ease the financial burden during this devastating time — supporting the family with medical costs, travel, memory-making experiences, and most importantly, allowing Tayha and Brandon to remain off work so they can focus fully on Olivia.
Please keep this incredibly strong family in your hearts. If you’re able to help — whether through a donation, sponsoring a sensory experience or by sharing their story — it would mean the world.
