My name is Sebastian Alappat, I’m artist living the American dream as an entrepreneur here in NYC. I am the founder of Spark, an art, yoga and meditation program for children. I'm called to help as I feel like I am in a unique position to help the country of my birth.
There is a horrific humanitarian crisis that is happening right now in India. Covid is raging there with no mercy and at the very least, people are in desperate need of basic supplies like oxygen, PPE, masks, tests and more.
I’m using my company and this platform as an opportunity to raise money to help my family, friends and fellow countrymen back home.
Art has the power to transform lives and so I am offering an Indian-inspired, donation based class Saturday, May 15th at 11am EST. Please see Zoom link and details below. This class is open to all ages and ranges and no art experience is required.
This money will be overseen by my cousin, Anu Antony, who works as clinical pharmacist in Lourdes Hospital in Kochi, Kerala. She is on the ground helping fight this crisis firsthand. We are hoping to take this money to aid the poor patient fund as well as use each of our art pieces to create a digital quilt to be hung in the hospital.
