WE DID IT! Thanks to you, 22 children from Gaza will enjoy a full-day winter break coding & robotics camp at My Code Club!
Now for our stretch goal ($7,500 total): We'll select up to 7 motivated students (ages 12+) from the camp to continue their journey with a full 10-week Introduction to Python course (10 classes).
This means your donation provides: ✅ Immediate joy for 22 kids this winter break ✅ A pathway to real coding skills for those ready to go deeper
$2,500 more = changing trajectories, not just one week.
My name is Ibraheem Islaih, and I am an instructor at My Code Club (MCC), a registered nonprofit organization based in Mississauga, Ontario. MCC provides coding, robotics, and STEM education programs to children and youth in our community. I have taught hundreds of students through MCC and have seen firsthand how meaningful tech-education can be for young learners.
This winter, MCC learned of an opportunity through the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) to support displaced Palestinian children from Gaza who recently arrived in Mississauga with their families. These children have experienced significant hardship, and many parents expressed a desire for safe, structured, and enriching programs to help their kids learn, socialize, and regain a sense of normalcy. As an instructor, I felt compelled to help bring this initiative to life.
Who we are supporting
We are supporting children from Gaza who are now living in Mississauga, having fled the crisis with their families. Our only aim is to support their well-being and education through creative, hands-on learning experiences.
All programming and support will take place in Mississauga, specifically at the MCC learning space located at 3195 Erindale Station Road.
How the funds will be used
All funds raised will be used only for educational and humanitarian purposes, including:
- Administration and coordination fees
- Event and workshop costs
- Classroom materials (laptops, robots, coding kits, crafts, notebooks, etc.)
- Snacks and wellness supplies for the children
- Any extra costs will be used to run more workshops
How the funds will reach the beneficiaries
The donations will be deposited into My Code Club’s official nonprofit bank account, and MCC will directly deliver all services and materials to the children through our winter education program in Mississauga. We are not sending money overseas. All impact happens locally and transparently.
Why this matters
For these young learners, the program offers more than just coding, it provides:
- A safe environment to learn and explore
- A chance to rebuild confidence
- Social connection and belonging
- Creative expression through technology
- A positive, stable routine during a difficult time
As an instructor, I want to ensure these children feel supported, welcomed, and empowered. With your help, we can give them a meaningful educational experience during a time when they need it most.
