Help Support Cora and the Bates Family
Meet Taylor and Ashley Bates — two loving parents walking through an incredibly hard season.
Their sweet baby girl, Cora, is just shy of 10 months old. She’s full of life, light, and resilience. Recently, Cora was diagnosed with a hypothalamic hamartoma — a rare, non-cancerous brain tumor located deep in the brain. This condition is causing her to experience over 30 seizures a day, drastically impacting her quality of life.
For months, Taylor and Ashley sought answers for Cora’s worsening symptoms, but her condition was misdiagnosed, and in that time, the tumor continued to grow. By the time they finally received an accurate diagnosis, doctors discovered that the tumor had grown into a giant hypothalamic hamartoma — one of significant size and complexity.
Now, Cora is preparing to undergo major brain surgery within the next month. The procedure aims to burn off the tumor from her hypothalamus in hopes of stopping the seizures and giving her a chance at a seizure-free life.
The road ahead — filled with hospital stays, time away from work, medical expenses, travel, and recovery — is a heavy burden for any family to carry alone.
This GoFundMe was created to help lighten that load. Every donation will go directly toward supporting the Bates family through this incredibly difficult time — covering medical bills, travel to specialists, time off work, and any needs that arise as they care for Cora.
Whether you give, share, or simply hold this family in your heart — thank you. Your support means the world.
