We would like to help our friend Robin Troutwine Martin in any way that we can with the tremendous burden of health expenses from being in and out of the hospital over the past 4 years, and now paired with her inability to work. Robin was diagnosed with carcinoid syndrome, from multiple neuroendocrine tumors in her liver and colon. She has had various infusions and medications to try to lessen new growth of tumors and shrink existing tumors, but those have recently not been successful, and her specialists are working on a different potential plan or even clinical trial to attempt. She has had multiple bowel obstructions and has recently had to have a drain tube placed for gastric decompression since she can't have an NG tube on a long-term basis. She has lost a lot of weight and has malnutrition from lack of tolerating oral intake very well. She is currently back home, but with TPN (total parenteral nutrition) being administered through a PICC line.
