This year has brought more pain than any family should have to carry.

A sweet sister from our church came to the U.S. with her husband and two little boys, hoping to build a safe and peaceful future. Earlier this year, her husband was taken by force and deported to Peru, leaving her alone in a new country—pregnant and caring for her children by herself.

With incredible faith and strength, she kept going. She learned how to drive, work, cook, and provide, all while carrying her baby girl and trusting that better days would come. Our community surrounded her with love, and just days ago we celebrated her at a baby shower, joyfully waiting for her daughter’s arrival.

On Wednesday December 17, she woke up bleeding and losing a large amount of amniotic fluid. When she arrived at the hospital, her baby still had a heartbeat. She pleaded for help, knowing her baby was in danger, but had to wait hours for a doctor to arrive. When the C-section was finally performed, her precious baby girl was stillborn.

She is now recovering from surgery alone, without her husband, while grieving the loss of her child. Her two young sons had to meet their baby sister in circumstances no child should ever experience. She remains hospitalized with medical concerns and is unable to work.

As Christmas approaches, this family is facing deep sorrow, medical bills, and funeral expenses instead of joy and celebration.

We invite you to help us lighten their Christmas and show up the way our Savior would—with love, compassion, and peace. Donations will help cover medical expenses, funeral and cremation costs, and basic needs as she heals.

Este año ha traído más dolor del que cualquier familia debería cargar.

Una querida hermana de nuestra iglesia llegó a Estados Unidos junto a su esposo y sus dos hijos pequeños, con la esperanza de construir un futuro seguro. A principios de este año, su esposo fue detenido por la fuerza y deportado, dejándola sola en un país nuevo—embarazada y cuidando a sus hijos por su cuenta.

Con una fe y fortaleza admirables, ella siguió adelante. Aprendió a manejar, trabajar, y proveer mientras esperaba a su bebé. Nuestra comunidad la rodeó de amor y, hace apenas unos días, celebrábamos su baby shower, llenos de ilusión por la llegada de su niña.

El 17 de diciembre despertó con sangrado y una gran pérdida de líquido amniótico. Al llegar al hospital, su bebé aún tenía latidos. Ella pidió ayuda con urgencia, sabiendo que su bebé estaba en peligro, pero tuvo que esperar varias horas hasta que un doctor estuviera disponible. Cuando finalmente se realizó la cesárea, su preciosa bebé nació sin vida.

Ahora se encuentra recuperándose de la cirugía completamente sola, sin su esposo, mientras enfrenta un dolor inmenso. Sus dos hijos pequeños tuvieron que conocer a su hermanita en circunstancias que ningún niño debería vivir. Ella continúa hospitalizada con complicaciones médicas y no puede trabajar.

Mientras se acerca la Navidad, esta familia enfrenta tristeza profunda, cuentas médicas y gastos funerarios en lugar de celebración.
