Chew Valley RFC continues to grow across the Valley Cats (ladies), Colts, walking rugby and Junior sections and with that growth comes greater demand for safe, usable training space.
We have three senior men's teams, a ladies team, and a U18 colts (boys) team that train each Tuesday and Thursday evening. Multiple junior teams train on a Wednesday night. Plus, walking rugby every Tuesday evening. We have two pitches with floodlights, but, as you can imagine, they get a lot of footfall.
We are raising £5,000 to purchase moveable floodlights that will allow us to train on the Chew Valley school pitches that mirror our own pitches, during weeknights.
This will:
- Provide more space for all our teams
- Reduce wear on the main club pitches
- Improve safety, player development and flexibility
- Support the long-term sustainability of the club
