To all my friends and tennis lovers
As you some of you may already be aware I have been coaching at the Koobilya St tennis courts in Seaforth for the past year.

These courts have been run down and subject to vandalism for a number years. This council owned facility has not received any form of upgrade for over 15 years. It is my hope and wish to revive these courts and turn them into a community asset.

Last year I submitted a development application to upgrade the existing shelther and apply for court lighting to extend the operating hours, this was approved by council in December 2016.

I have requested finacial assistance from local council to facilitate the necessary upgrades and improvements to the tennis facility, but was informed that Counncil had no funds available to help assist with the required financial burden. The courts are in desperate need of a resurface(In progress) plus the existing shelter needs to be upgraded the cost will be around $40 000, which I am covering at my own expense.

The current lease that I hold on the courts does not require any upgrades or improvement to the council/community owned facility.
It is my goal to have the lights installed by the middle of April 2017 with the aim to have lights for the winter season.
The lights will cost a further $35 000 and they are imparitive in the quest to revive these courts as this would extend operating times to 9pm. Night tennis, especially on weeknights is often the only time that people are able to participate in tennis and if courts are not lit, the participation opportunities are significantly reduced especially during winter.

These much needed upgrades will bring local kids and tennis players back to this beautiful venue and will ensure that this tennis venue is not lost to another sport or development.
Any help will be much appreciate. Whether you can spare a few dollars , or just share this post, every little bit helps.
Thank you all for your support and generosity.
Please help spread the word!
Kind regards
Hans Zeegers
