Hi, my name is Alex Fodi, and I’m the creator of WireBugs - small, handmade copper wire creatures that carry a tiny light of hope in their hands.

Wirebugs.Art

The past few years have been a hard reset for me. I went through a painful divorce, addiction, and a long period of depression. I’m in recovery now, rebuilding my life step by step, and I was also recently diagnosed with ADHD—which helped me finally understand why life felt so overwhelming for so long.

WireBugs started during my recovery. Making them slows my mind down and helps me focus. Each piece is hand-shaped from copper wire, and each one holds a small light—a symbol of hope. That light becomes a spark that “turns on” the tree of life behind the bug, representing growth, healing, and the strength to keep moving forward—even when you feel stuck and tangled inside.

I’ve taken a job at a nonprofit to support myself, but I’m still trying to create stability while I heal. I’m raising funds to help cover essentials like housing and basic bills, recovery-related support, and the materials/tools I need to keep creating WireBugs.

If you’re able to donate or share this fundraiser, it truly means the world to me. Thank you for helping me keep going—one wire, one light, one day at a time.
