Light- Garman Family Fire Expenses

Dearest friends, family, & compassionate souls,

I am humbly reaching out to you today to share tragic news about my best friend and her partner and to ask for your support during this incredibly challenging time for them.

On the evening of Saturday September 9th, the lives of Caitlin, Coley and their two fur children were drastically changed when a devastating house fire engulfed their home. We are thankful for whoever is watching down on them, that Coley was home last night. Their original plans for the day had changed last minute, leaving Caitlin working and Coley with the day off. If things did not transpire that way, they both would have been at work and not home and the dogs would have been alone. After getting himself and the the pups outside to safety, Coley went back inside with the fire extinguisher, but it was already too late. The flames consumed nearly the entirety of their home, leaving them in a state of shock and disbelief. The evening of the fire is etched into their memories - the heart-wrenching sight of their cozy home ablaze and their overwhelming feeling of helplessness. It is truly a miracle that everyone, including their pups, Aura and Cymba, was physically unharmed! However, the road to recovery appears to be long and daunting. While they do have insurance, it will likely not cover the full cost of repairing and replacing their belongings. The damage is extensive, and the emotional toll on their family is immeasurable. It breaks my heart to see my dear friends endure such hardship.

The funds we raise will go directly towards the following:

Replacing Lost Belongings:

Replacing the possessions that were lost in the fire, particularly items critical to their family life such as cookware, furniture, and appliances. We also hope to replace items dear to our fur niece & nephews' hearts, like toys, food, etc.

Temporary Living Expenses:

Covering the cost of temporary increases in living expenses such as takeout meals, etc. Every donation, regardless of its size, will be a ray of hope in my friend’s darkest hour and a prayer answered. Your kindness will help them regain stability and provide a sense of normalcy for them, who have been through so much already. I have always believed in the power of community, and I am grateful for the love and support that this community has provided thus far, as well as the first responders and their heroic efforts.
