Light for Life - Lion Entry Deterrent Systems - Lion Lights

Hi, I'm Bee. I have known Lion specialist and conservationist David Mascall since 2017. David has dedicated all his life to saving Kenya's predators. His Lion Entry Deterrent Systems have proven to be a humane solution to significantly reduce human-predator conflicts. Around Kenya's parks, mainly the Nairobi National Park and the Masai Mara National Reserve, "Lion Lights" protect predators, livestock and the local communities likewise. With each system costing USD 350, your donation helps to expand this project. "Lion Lights" are vital in preventing predation, fostering coexistence, and preserving the livelihoods of many Masai families. YOUR dedication allows David to provide swift, hands-on support ensures the sustainability and success of these installations. They make a significant difference in reducing animal attacks to almost 100 %. In 2024, we reached the groundbreaking number of 1000 installations.

Continued funding will enable even more bomas to be protected, creating a safer environment for both humans and wildlife.

In 2022 and in 2024 I've been visiting David in Kenya, to learn more about how the systems work.

Installations are free of charge for the receiving families. Despite being in his 70th, he does not stop a day to prepare (Saturday and Sunday) and install (Monday to Friday) the Lion Lights, whenever it is possible to drive to the affected areas.
