Have you ever met someone who consistently and compassionately shines light (literally and figuratively) on those around them?

Who builds everyone else up at every single opportunity, yet never, ever asks for anything in return?

Who has a heart the size of a continent and the kind of quiet faith and determination to help others, especially students, realize their dreams?

Everyone who knows Leonard Gagnon can boldly and confidently answer “yes” to each of those questions. He is all of those things and so much more.

He is devoted to his family and to his friends and to his community. His first instinct is to help and serve others.

And for once, all those who love him have an opportunity to help and serve him.

Leonard and his family have had a particularly rough few years. He recently lost his mom and his health has been a roller coaster. He’s endured a heart attack, a battle with cancer, a recurrence of that cancer, radiation treatment, and, in early August, a terrifying medical emergency.

Leonard had to be rushed to Lutheran Hospital, about an hour or so from home, for a major emergency surgery.

He pulled through with the grit and grace we all know defines him. After about a week, we got word that this incredibly strong man managed to avoid a rehab facility and was able to go home.

Here’s where we come in!

The ambulance ride that got Leonard to the right doctors at the right time and helped save his life has left the Gagnons with a hefty bill.

It would be such a gift to be able to wipe that clear for them and not leave anything hanging over their heads- and maybe… bless them a bit more.

Thank you for helping us give back to Leonard. He always shines light onto everyone around him… and now?

Now it is our turn to reflect that light back to him.
