Light Field 2019
Donation protected
Light Field is an international exhibition of recent and historical moving image art on celluloid, held in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are artist run and collectively organized by:
Samuel Breslin, Emily Chao, Zachary Epcar, Trisha Low, tooth, and Syd Staiti.
The third edition will be held at The Lab on March 15 - 17, 2019.
Previously, Light Field has been generously funded with the help of grants and personal contributions of our supporters. Unfortunately, due to an inability to secure income this year (not for lack of trying!), we've had to delay the festival. Despite this, we've decided to honor the work submitted to us and are committing to making LF 2019 happen - even at our own cost. Currently, we're fundraising in order to fulfill our promise of paying every single participating filmmaker in this year's program.
We hope to raise $3000 for:
artist fees and print shipping - $2,500
technical support and projectionists - $300
program / button printing and administrative costs - $200
Collective members are unpaid and volunteer their time and energy towards this festival.
We know that we're an overstretched community living an expensive place and have our own hesitations about requesting financial aid. That said, in order to make Light Field 2019 happen in a way that will fully support our mission of paying artists, we do need your help! Anything you can contribute to make up the shortfall would be hugely appreciated.
Here's what we can offer in return:
everyone who contributes gets a button at the door
$125 or more gets you a LF 2019 festival pass
$300 or more gets you a handpainted Unity skateboard (while stock lasts)
$3000 gets you our eternal gratitude (idk, we will buy you endless nachos? we will eat them with you?)
