Help Bring Light and Shadow to Life

Hi, I'm Jared Valle, a composer passionate about telling stories through music. I'm raising funds to create a music video for my original composition, Light and Shadow, written for viola and piano.

The piece explores the contrasting sides of the viola's voice, moving between dark, introspective moments and brighter, more expressive passages. I'd love to bring those contrasts to the screen through creative cinematography, lighting, and shadow.

The music has already been professionally recorded at UMKC's White Hall, featuring two wonderful musicians, violist Boris Vayner and pianist Charles Dickinson. Now, I'm ready to take the next step and turn that recording into a finished music video with the help of WOWCAT Studios. We're tentatively planning to film on December 12, 2026.

I'm raising $2,000 to help make this happen. The video production quote is $1,300, and I've already invested $600 in recording the music. As an independent composer, projects like this require a significant personal investment, and support from the community can make a real difference.

100% human-created. No AI used. Every note of Light and Shadow was composed by me, the music was performed by real musicians, and the recording and upcoming music video are being created by people—not generative AI. From the composition and performance to the recording and filmmaking, this project celebrates what human artists can create through their own skill, imagination, and collaboration.

At a time when AI-generated content is becoming increasingly common, I want to offer something made entirely by people. If you believe in supporting human artists and keeping creativity in human hands, I hope you'll consider helping bring this project to life.

If you'd like to help bring Light and Shadow to life, I'd be incredibly grateful for your support. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings this project one step closer to the screen. And if you're unable to donate, sharing this campaign with others would mean a great deal to me, too.

Thank you for supporting independent music and the artists who make it possible!
