#liftingforgrace...sort of
I clearly don't lift. But, Chris Haines does and so does Grace.
While Grace continues her to path to recovery, at their request, let's show some support for the hospital that saved her and continues to work for countless others.
The Haines family lives on the North Shore of Vancouver near all of the local ski hills. For cyclists, there exists a local challenge called the Triple Crown. This is cycling up all 3 local hills, Mt Seymour, Grouse, and Cypress in a single day. This is approximately 2100m of elevation.
While it's still a bit cold at the summit of the skill hills for the real challenge, instead I will attempt ride Burnaby Mountain, 330m of elevation, 7 times, which will be the same elevation gain.
Please join me in showing our support. The Lions Gate Hospital does great work, and is often the first stop for many weekend warriors who attack the hills on weekends, whether it's on skis, snowboard, bikes, or hikes, and in this case, runners. Donate what you can, everything helps.
When will this happen?
I will complete the challenge before the end of April. Training has just begun. This is weather dependent, so one sunny weekend in April.
Bonus:
If you donate, I promise not to send photos of myself in cycling spandex. If you don't donate...
