"We didn’t want to be here. We hoped against all hope but here we are anyway. Maeve’s leukemia has relapsed. She has a biopsy today and will go inpatient Monday to start heavy duty chemo. She’s full of light and hope and determination, and also starting to get a little scared but ready or not we’re back on a bear hunt. Can’t go under it. Can’t go over it. We have to go through it."

Katie has been guiding her big, beautiful family through some of their toughest years of their lives in the most grace-filled way.
