The Brem Family,

Sunday morning, my water broke at 19 weeks and three days. When they did our precious little boy’s ultrasound, it showed zero amniotic fluid protecting him. After speaking with doctors, it is now a waiting game. I will be on IV antibiotics for 48 hours; then it will be up to my body to naturally fight off infection. This first week is the most crucial because my doctor said if I can get past this week, our odds increase so much more. The past few days, his heart rate has been in the 150s, and I'm on strict bed rest. The goal is to get us to 21 weeks and five days. If we can get there, I'll be transferred to Houston, where I will stay for the remainder of my pregnancy until I have him. We are going through a lot of emotions right now. It's hard hearing our son is not at a viable age right now, and there is nothing that can be done unless we hit that two-week mark. Please just wrap us in prayers and love right now. Colson Blake, mommy and daddy love you so much. Please continue to be our strong little guy!

Many of you have reached out on how to help and asked what you can do. I myself faced these questions as I received the news. The most important thing each of us can do is lift this beautiful family up in prayer.

This growing family is facing overwhelming emotional, physical, and financial burdens. I’m certain the costs of medical care, travel, and lost wages will begin to take a toll as Courtney will spend the rest of her pregnancy on bed rest in the hospital for close monitoring.
