Lifting up Luna - a fundraiser for ER vet bills

Hi, I'm Luna's mom, Katie.

Luna, our 13 year old tortoiseshell kitty, has been in the ER at Blue Pearl in Southfield since Friday night. She became very ill, very suddenly, on Tuesday and we still aren't completely sure why. After two appointments with the great folks at our primary vet, Warren Woods Veterinary Hospital, Luna continued to decline and emergency care became necessary to keep her alive. She has not eaten since Wednesday and she can't come home until she eats.

Asking for help is very hard for me. I've had some tremendous veterinary expenses in the past - we lost our other senior cat Dexter in February and I lovingly referred to him as my "million dollar baby" - but the bill for Luna's hospital stay will be the largest bill I've ever had to pay. I put down a deposit of $5,100 on Friday night and we are not out of the woods yet so the number will only be going up.

Please know that Luna's care is not dependent on funds raised here - she will have the care she needs, even if it takes me many years to pay it off. I also know times are tough all around, and there have been times I've been able to donate to fundraisers, and other times I could only send love and good vibes. We are appreciative of all forms of support that anyone wants to extend. Luna's mom (me!), dad (Chris), and siblings (Cassie Banana, Miles, & Ezri) can't wait to welcome her back home when she's ready.

I will share updates as I receive them (the kind staff at Blue Pearl texts me pictures 2x/day and I get a phone call from the attending veterinarian every day).
