Lifting Up Leo

To Leo’s friends and relatives:

As many of you know, Leo has been fighting cancer for three years. THREE … LONG … YEARS.

The devastation caused by both the cancer and the treatments he has endured has left his body and his soul devastated. Several rounds of radiation and immunotherapy have forced Leo to stop doing the landscaping work that paid his bills and helped him pay for travel related to cancer treatments and uncovered medical costs.

Leo recognizes the incredible support all of you have provided him, whether it be emotional, spiritual, holistic healing, food and herbal, and financial assistance. Many of you offered your generous support because you understood that Leo would do the same for you if the roles were reversed. And he thanks each of you with all the love in his heart.

Recently, Leo’s healing journey took its darkest turn when he learned that his cancer had returned for a third time, and this time chemotherapy was the only treatment. After being told his cancer was gone, the realization it had returned stunned and shocked Leo, and his loved ones. Indeed, it felt to him like his hopes and dreams had been taken away. And he has spent much of the past three weeks bed ridden, suffering from lymphedema. He has made the decision to fight any cancer left in his body naturally, as the ways of western medicine have left his body feeling broken.

While he is suffering at this time, we are hopeful he will pull through, the way he has pulled through all of the other hardships he has endured.

So it is with a full heart that I must ask for your help once again for my friend Leo, for our friend Leo, a man who would give any one of us the shirt off his back if we asked. Who would fight any enemy on our behalf! Who would speak up for any of us if we needed his voice! Who would do anything to lift any burden that was weighing on our souls!

Cancer isn’t quitting and neither will Leo. We hope you will help lift him up in his fight in any way you can, big or small. And we thank you for all you have done to get him this far.
