Right before Christmas, our dear friend and beloved community member Shannon Schmidt experienced a serious accident. She fell down a flight of stairs and suffered significant injuries, including breaks to both her tibia and fibula. Shannon is scheduled for surgery next week and will be off her feet for quite some time as she recovers.

Because of the timing of this accident, Shannon will be out of work until after the first of the year. This means she’ll miss out on crucial income during the holiday season, a time when every dollar counts. On top of the financial strain, she’s unable to get around to cook meals or manage daily tasks for her family.

Shannon is a hardworking mama who shows up for this community in countless ways, and now it’s our turn to show up for her. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward easing the financial burden of lost wages, medical costs, and basic household needs while she heals.
